What is a photogram/rayogram
A photogram is the immediate result of a constellation of light, three-dimensional object and photosensitive material.Hereby the object is in partial contact with, or in a relative proximity to, the photosensitive material. In other words, there is no optical system between object and photosensitive surface. Processes of light-bending or refraction are at best caused by the objects themselves.
All two-dimensional electromagnetic receptors function theoretically as photosensitive material.

My Photogram Experiment
In the photogram experiment I was in a group and put different types of objects, we had objects such as; an oyster card, light bulbs, earphones and several plastic objects on a special photographic paper, which is light sensitive paper. After we put the paper in acid for 1-2 minutes each tray of . After the photogram was out of the acid you could see your object because they were white.
First we used a small piece of photographic paper and put a hear phone , oyster card and a bulb. then we put light on the paper for 3seconds.After the rest of the process the photogram became a success but needed improving.on the second piece of paper we try a large piece with more objects and the second time round it was better then the first one.
Man Ray
He was born on the 27th August 1890 in Philadelphia and died on the 18th November 1976 in Paris at the age on 86. In 1915 Man ray met a french photographer called Marcel Duchamp and produce photographs with mainly circles. He used a technique which is called cameraless photography which was part of his experiments of rayograph. He found out a new way to create new look images by doing them in a dark room. Man Ray became famous by his portraits and building his career by going into the fashion industry and by taking pictures of fashion. He started to experiment on cubist style of painting and after he started doing works towards abstraction.
In one of his photographs he uses every day objects to create an image. In the top left corner he has used what appears to be a pair of tweezers. In the centre of the photograph he has a length of film with a glass to the right of it. Under the film there is a pen and finally in the bottom left corner there is a pair of scissors. The background of the images are all black, and the objects themselves are varying shades of grey and white. The shade of the objects is dependant on how opaque or transparent the object is. The scissors and film both are a very bright white due to ho opaque the objects were. The glass, however, has far more shading and grey colouring due to it being a transparent surface, this has caused a very 3D effect. The objects are all white and the background is black because it was done in a dark room and the objects are being expose toward the light.
